NEWBORN & BABY
simple and unposed
LONDON NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
Your littlest love has arrived. The first few weeks and months are beautiful, emotional and intense, and often forgotten in the haze of becoming a new parent. During our newborn photography session, I aim to capture all the tiny details and joyful in-between moments for you, as you are getting to know the newest member of your family.
My sessions are always relaxed, flow organically and are completely led by your baby to provide you with candid images. All you have to do is enjoy plenty of newborn snuggles together.
I love the simplicity of newborn photography, without using any props or putting your baby into unnatural poses. Whether we capture them in the first couple of days or weeks, or a few months down the line, these newborn photographs will tell the next chapter of your life as a family.
Below are a few selected favourites of my London newborn photography, as well as and younger baby photography.
MY APPROACH
I would like to press pause on the early days with a newborn. As challenging and hectic this time can be, it is also unique and fleeting. I would like to create beautiful records of your tiny baby that you and your children will cherish forever.
During our shoot, I will provide gentle guidance and ensure you can simply enjoy this time snuggling your littlest love.
As a mother to two young children myself, I strongly believe that records of early motherhood are some of the most important ones to capture.
YOUR JOURNEY
CHOOSING YOUR DATE
I recommend reaching out in your third trimester to ensure I have availability around your due date, as I only work with a handful of families per month. If you would like to take newborn photos together in those special first two weeks, we will book a tentative date and then confirm what suits you best once your little love has arrived.
Specialising in London newborn photography, it is very important to me that you have an incredible experience of the newborn bubble and our photoshoot together, so I will be flexible with dates and work around what suits you best as a family.
If your baby has already arrived, and you are looking to capture those first few weeks or months together, simply reach out and we can check for a suitable date together.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
To ensure a bespoke newborn photography experience, I offer a complimentary pre-shoot consultation, so we can get to know each other, and for me to learn what is most important to you in documenting your story through these images. I’d be delighted to meet in person or we can arrange a call.
I love supporting you in your outfit and styling choices and will be on hand throughout to answer any questions you may have and am happy to offer suggestions. I will always ensure you feel comfortable and relaxed about our session together, and well prepped ahead of the day.
YOUR NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT
On the day, I will arrive a few minutes early so we can chat through any other questions you may have. I don’t set any time limits on our shoots together, but typically spend around 90 minutes for a newborn or baby photography session.
I will always be flexible to allow for any feeding, changing or cuddle breaks as needed. There is no rush and you can simply enjoy snuggling your littlest love.
Throughout our time together I will ensure you and your family feels relaxed and well taken care of.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
I know what the excitement feels like to see your photos, so after your newborn or baby photography session, I will send you a few sneak previews within 48 hours.
I take pride in hand editing each of your images and will share your online gallery with you three to four weeks after our shoot. You will be able to choose between different packages to decide if you would like to keep the entire gallery (35+ images) or a smaller number of images.
I strongly believe images should be printed and would be delighted to support you with fine art prints or bespoke fine art albums to create beautiful family heirlooms.
“Lisa took the most beautiful pictures of me and my little girl. She was so professional and just made the whole experience so lovely and relaxed. Thank you Lisa!“

YOUR QUESTIONS: LONDON NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
When should I book my london newborn photography session?
I recommend reaching out when you are in your third trimester to ensure I have availability around your due date. I do suggest having newborn photography sessions early on, simply because they change incredibly quickly. That said, because I do not pose newborns but instead specialise in natural newborn photography, there is no need to take photos within the first 14 days which is frequently done. Whether we capture your newborn in the first couple of days or weeks, or a few months down the line, these photographs will become a treasured record of the early days as a new family.
What shall I wear for our london newborn photography session?
It’ s most important to feel yourself and for your clothing to reflect who you are. As your newborn photographer, I offer a complimentary styling consultation ahead of our newborn photography session and we can discuss ideas. I generally suggest neutral tones (white, beige, greys, pastels etc.) and to avoid bold colours as they can be unflattering for your and baby’s skin tone. I recommend choosing your own outfit first and then selecting complementary pieces for your newborn baby and the rest of the family. Have a look at this blog post on what to wear for your newborn photoshoot for some more tips and inspiration.
Do you do posed newborn photography or use any props?
My style is taking natural, unposed images. You can learn more about my newborn photography style here. Therefore, I do not use props for newborn sessions but would simply ask you to hold and cuddle your baby, or to have them safely on your bed or in their crib. They are perfect the way they are! If you have any particular blankets, throws, muslins etc. you would like to feature in the images, just let me know.
what should we prepare for our London newborn photography session?
My sessions are very relaxed and I always schedule extra time for newborn & baby sessions. We will chat through all details during your complimentary consultation, but some simple recommendations are to feed your baby just before our shoot if you can, and to have a couple of easy outfit changes ready for them if you like. Head over to my blog to find some great articles on preparation for newborn photography, including this one on tips on how to prepare for a newborn photoshoot.
